Ingrid has always had a passion for art and has devoted many years to its study and practise. Having taught art in the public school system, Ingrid now works full time as an artist and teaches weekly oil painting classes for adults at the Calgary School of Art. Her popular workshops and classes focus on painting still lifes and figures.
Ingrid's style is distinctive, impressionistic and vibrant. Her preferred medium is oil paint, a timeless, sumptuous medium which can produce limitless textures and effects. Ingrid paints a variety of subjects from landscapes to figurative and strives to produce works which contain not only technical prowess, but also truth and heart.
Ingrid’s art education has included the study of: painting in workshops with Zhaoming Wu,
Brent Laycock , Brian Atyeo, Ray Cattell, Tony Batten, Tim Packer and Lori Lukasewich; silversmithing in Thailand; ceramics at Wildflower Art Center; and glassblowing, ceramics and metalsmithing at ACA.
