Paul (Mac) MacTavish was raised in an orphanage, from infancy, in
St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. He is known for his landscapes, which are created in an unusual, spontaneous, impressionistic style
and incorporate thick, lush oil paint in the impasto technique using
palette knife. Preferring to paint en plein air, amongst the natural elements, often you may find pieces of nature "caught" in his paintings. His desire is that each time the viewer looks at his paintings, they will see something different.
The former Prime Minister of Canada, Joe Clark has recieved his artwork.
